The Birth of my Angel....a terrifying experience to say the least

This is a paper I wrote within a few weeks of Serenity's passing on to Heaven. It describes what happen when I went into labor with my princess...... When I arrived in Mason City by ambulance they got me up to my room, which seemed very cold and gloomy. After what seemed like forever the doctor came in and checked to see if I had dilated anymore during the ambulance trip from Algona to Mason City. At that time the doctor was very short and cold he informed me that I was dilated to 4cm now and to prepare for an emergency C-section, and walked out of the room leaving me in complete shock. I was in complete panic mode. I had never had a C-section, my phone was not working and none of my family was there. I wasn’t even sure if they were coming to Mason City. Tears were falling down my face because I was so scared. I was terrified for my baby girl to be born in Mason City and not Rochester like had been planned for months due to her health problems that we were aware of. Finally a very sensitive nurse approached me and asked if there was anything she could do to help me. I told her that I needed to call my daughter and my phone wasn’t working. The nurse got me a phone and I finally reached my family. My conversation with my daughter was very brief and mostly me sobbing. I am really unsure how much of the conversation my daughter actually heard other than they were taking me in for an emergency C-section and to get to the hospital now. All I remember her saying was calm down mom I am on my way. I love you mom. Bye. There were about eight people in the operating room. It was cold and scary. Everyone was wearing a mask over there face which reminded me of a horror film. I was shaking and nauseous do to the medications. It seemed like an eternity before I seen my daughter, Merissa. I was already in the operating room. They had already started to cut me open before she arrived. I was so glad when I realized that my daughter was sitting next to my head. She startled me when she spoke to me because I didn’t even realize it was her since she too had a mask and scrubs on. At 1:57 am on March 31, 2012 Serenity was born. Serenity was taken by jet to St Mary’s hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. My daughter, Merissa got to fly for the very first time with her baby sister Serenity. I was taken by ambulance to Rochester as well.
